What options for redoing the stock radio

To all who have redone their stock Am-Fm head units , how do you like the result? I do not want to cut anything in the dash and love the stock look , I have a factory unit w/ cassette (if anyone knows waht that is) out of a Suburban now. What can be done with these head units , can you get bigger power installed? Pe-amp outs? MP3 inputs?

Not looking for ear splitting power but something atleast tripple what the stock turd can put out.

Please post any links / pics / or posting references , I have looked through many threads , alot of good info , just makes my decision harder....

Thanks Desert
