Re: Picture Thread:Cool Little GM Trucks

I`ve never seen another slot "truck" like that and sure don`t remember them from when they were new, either. It`s packed away for now. So,are my 1/24 Ertls.I dug into my stash to take to a swap meet in April and came across alot, but not those Ertls.I may have some duplicates.I discovered those while collecting several years ago. They are far andl few between.I saw a blue one, like factory medium blue, last year. The guy wanted something like $75 for it and wouldn`t budge,so I walked. There was a time I would have, because I could have, but back then I found mine way cheaper.
Not GM trucks, but I found two boxed(old store stock) Hubleys last week. They were the orange road grader and a red farm tractor...Kiddie Toys series.I would have bought those in a heartbeat if I had money. They were $150 & $100.This was at an antique shop in this historic town and she said the grandson of the family that had a store had them there on consignment. She went to look at what he had and it was a building full. Not just toys, but all old store stock of collectible-type things, such as Christmas decorations, dished, and such.I`m going to be working down the street(see alternate tinkerings)and plan on stopping back in.Maybe i`ll treat myself to one of those peices. What I really want to do is get a shot at seeing that motherload! Even just to look.

Re: Picture Thread:Cool Little GM Trucks

Here's an unusual 1/64 scale I found. It's all metal with no identifying markings of who made it:

These were cheap knock-offs back in the day. I had this in with my oldest son's stuff. I thought it was a square body all these years,or remembered it that way because those were abundant:

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Picture Thread:Cool Little GM Trucks

I get all crazy when I find anything old. When newer stuff started coming out I though,"Big deal. That stuff's all over the place" or "It's cool, but nothing rare" or "That's new China stuff". My whole collecting interest has always been in buying what used to be,like made in USA,or just things that show how things used to be. Then I realized since I like these trucks so much I should be collecting anything "GM truck". I've paid the price for passing up Hot Wheels I could have had for a buck. I just finally found a Jada 1/64th yellow and white Cheyenne from that pack and paid about $15. I still need that black with flame one. They are near impossible to find.
I have a couple of those Avon trucks. I looked at those for years, but thought collecting Avon was not for me. Well,I don't collect Avon, but Avon just happens to have made a cologne/talc package that sure looks like a GM Truck...and it's a camper!!

Nice collection K, I just finished a couple kits one's a 57 cameo and the other is 64 c10. I would post some pics but the wife has the camera in her purse and she's at work. When I get home from work tonight I'll snap a few pics to share!!

BTW, I'm still hunting for one of the 61 c10 kits. Let me know if you come across one.
