66 cab on 62 frame...

ok i know you have to change the cab mounts around but i was wondering, it looks like the rear cab mounts are the same on 66 and 62. looks to be just the front mounts. can someone confirm this? also the radiator support mounts dont need to be moved do they? ive decided to use a 62 frame i have under my 66 because it is more stout than the 66 frame. i have been thinking about it for a while now and decided i want to. thanks ahead of time.

Re: 66 cab on 62 frame...

as far as I have heard the rear cab mounts are the same.
just the fronts are wider on the 62.
I think the rad supports are the same 60-66, but not positive, that should be an easy measurement to look at.
the bumpers are different, the holes where they bolt on to the frame horn are closer together on a 60-62, than on a 63-66-closer vertical , horizontal should be the same.

I grabbed these from the www.6066gmcguy.org/ site, you can see how the early front cab mount stretches way out there....

IMO switching to the '62 frame is going to cause you more issues than you currently have with your 6.0 and 4L80E swap. I could be wrong too.....just my opinion
