Bench Seat Problem

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. The stops on the bottom of my bench seat (1970 Chevy CST-10) for the top half of the seat keep bending downward. Now I'm not a real big guy...I'm 192 lbs...But they keep bending down until finally the top half of the seat rests on the back of the cab...just below the rear window. Is this common after nearly 40 years? Has anyone had to take their seat apart/remove these stops...(not even sure if you can) and reinforce/weld these little brackets up to make them stronger?

Thanks Bob

Re: Bench Seat Problem

can you post a pic? most trucks had the seat back bolted to the bottom and didn't flip. yours is either modified, swapped out, or one of the handfull that flips

Re: Bench Seat Problem

Thanks for your interest Longhorn Man. After further inspection, it looks like I have to take seat apart and get in there to weld these little brackets. They keep bending because they're fatigued/cracked. I hope the photos help.
