1981 C10 in San Diego

Hey,

New to the site and have a project that has just begun. My old 81 custom deluxe that I have had since 16 is finally getting a new motor. Just wanted any feedback on my plans. I just purchased a complete running 350 from a 81 K10 blazer and wanted to know if that motor will be an easy swap and if it will mate up to the old three on the tree transmission. Any advice before I begin?

going from 81 to 81 will make it a lot nicer. It will bolt to your 3 speed, just have to swap flywheels, clutch assm. and make sure you have a pilot bearing in the back of the crankshaft.

Here are some pics so far...Mocking up the donor with all the smog lines and components in place before cleaning it up, what a chore.

Looks like a good start. That swap will be simple as long as you have the tools.
