Twin Lincolns and a G'Z One. I like your tools. The G'Z I have, working on the Lincs.

That phone is awesome. It's the only one that has lasted more than a few months in the shop. I am going on two years here in September.

Re: Not so budget 3-link build
I did some maintenance and some brake work to the cop car today. Took it for a test drive after. It definitely does get a lot of looks. Thought I was going to get pulled over a few times.

That car is so awesome...
Can you get in trouble for having it? Like impersonating a police officer? Just wondering... |

Re: Not so budget 3-link build
I dont think you can, I see so many people here in TX running around in old cop cars with the bumpers, and A piller light still on them. A couple still painted the same colors!

Re: Not so budget 3-link build
It's a gray area. I talked to a cop yesterday who said there where obviously code violations. He said it was the cops choice if I could receive a ticket or not. So I would say yes you can get in trouble. The guy that owns it said he wants a light bar and a PA. At that point I would say it's inevitable.

Re: Not so budget 3-link build
Very nice fab work. I truly appreciate quality workmanship. I'm anxious to see exactly what kind of vehicle that chassis is going under.
I'm going to get back on my '55's cantilever suspension as soon as I finish my '64 shop beater. The next step is to build the fuel tank/air tank combo. Click on my build thread and let me know what you think.

Re: Not so budget 3-link build
Looks like I left off with the cop car and the Double Cab.
I have a lot of updating to do... I think I shared this project on here, its an S10 I did for a kid with epilepsy. Did a very simple bag job on it. Okay here is an engine subframe I built for the VW. This is the bell housing for the VW, to mate a 911 engine to a 944 transaxle. Another custom wishbone. The Datsun got in a collision, so the owner and I swapped on a new front end and painted it olive drab. Around that same time he got his first mini feature.

Re: Not so budget 3-link build
Here are some motor mounts I make for Mazda trucks.
Some more VW stuff. The subframe should be making sense about right now. This is when I was just starting to learn aluminum welding, so I am not so proud of the look of these welds. But the tank sealed. Cage is pretty much just to stiffen the chassis, since there is now a huge hole in the floor. The owner and I talked about proper cage design, but ti would interfere with passenger space (his kids), so this was the compromise. And now the star of this whole project, the engine... And my favorite thing, bell cranks and Bilsteins. From something else..
