Help with Bed Mounting
I have a wood long bed that I am mounting to my truck and I have 10 places to mount it with ten bolts. Do I need to use all of them or do I use just eight? I have been told that Chevy put 10 but only used 8. I am confused.
Thanks, Chad Last edited by chadvicki; 07-07-2009 at 11:50 AM. |

Re: Help with Bed Mounting
Hi Chad, go to this web site they have step by step instructions on mounting wood beds.
http://www.mar-k.com/installation_hints.html I personally used all 10 bolts.

Did you do that in order to be more secure?

Re: Help with Bed Mounting
Yes, there are 4 bolts that hold the frame of the bed to the frame of the truck. Then there is 6 that hold 2 of the main boards down to the cross sills and it just feels more sturdy IMO. Other wise the only thing holding the wood down is the small stainless steel pieces in between the wood.
Leo.
