How do you Remove Factory AC?
I have the inner fender dropped, undid all the nuts on the front of the unit. Seems to be attached to the stuff in the cab, doesn't want to come out. I want this stuff gone so I can shave my firewall.

O.K. got it, I had missed a nut. Any tips for getting the inside the cab part out?

If that is true, you need to find the nuts on the outside of the firewall, remove them, remove the heater hoses, and pull the unit, spilling antifreeze all over your interior.

I got the engine bay part out. Doesn't look like there any more nuts or bolts on that side. Taking a break now, it's like a 100 degrees here.

I'm going to eventually. Trying to decide if I'm gonna start on a motor first.

Re: How do you Remove Factory AC?
You guys that are installing "Vintage Air", should also look at "Old Air Products" in Ft. Worth TX. www.oldairproducts.com They are really good guys to work with and have an excellent unit that I have put in quite a few of my customers cars and trucks.

Re: How do you Remove Factory AC?
I just removed my factory air from my 72 Blazer. I was able to get all of the stuff out of the engine compartment without pulling the inner fender panel, or the hood and hinge. There are a couple of fasteners inside the cab, the will be visible when you remove the glove box.
