Wheel Offset & BackSpacing 101

Wassup Guys! Was just wondering if it was possible if we can get a topic dedicated to Wheel Offset and BackSpacing. I know its been on alot of peoples minds lately including mine. And I wanted to see if someone can clear up the understanding of Wheel Offset and Back Spacing. Here are a few questions that I have.

1. My current project im doing 22x9.5 Front & 24x10 Rear-->rear backspacing 6.21 & front backspacing is 5.96-->question is will the rear wheels stick out or sit further in with a Ford 9 Inch Rear 58inches long 31 spline?

2. What size rear spacers would I need to make this work?

3. Do I need spacers for the front as well?

These are questions that I need help answering hopefully someone can answer these and give me a clue of a better understanding.

I believe the 58" width rear-end will pull your wheels in towards the frame, compared with a GM rear. Making your overall width narrower. Is the front all original, i.e. ( A-arms, spindles, crossmember)? I would think the wheel width, offset, would be ok. This all depends on height of suspension, and what type of set-up are you running out back? Stock trailing arms?

Look here for a ton of info:

Also,... what vehicle are you working on? Is the 58" measurement backing plate to backing plate? Or from the wheel mounting surface?

Thanks for the response! Im running an SD Raised Cross member up front. Out back is a bag on bar setup. I was just curious if these wheels will stick out or tuck perfectly. Thanks Again guys!
