Hey Reumster,problem with LED inserts
My new LED inserts work but not properly.
Do I need a special electronic flasher.I'm already running a H/D electronic flasher. 1st the brake lights,4 way flashers, running lights and turn signals all work fine with the reg. bulbs in. With the lights off only the drivers side will blink.with the lights on no turn signals at all.brakes work, they light up nice and bright, but no turn signals. Anyone have an idea what's the problem. Again everything works properly with the regular bulbs in.

I'm having sort of a similar problem. Like BobbyK, everything works great with the 1157s in.
Running Lights alone - work Brake Lights alone - work Brake lights with taillights - work Turn signals alone - "work" but only flash dim, like the running lights, not with the intensity of the brake lights. Basically, the turn signals are only lighting up to the level of running lights when the headlights are on. I just replaced my flasher with an electronic one. Any ideas, Ryan?

Check your ground. Make sure it's bare metal to the ground wire (no rust or paint). Typically LED's are more finicky about that.

On my set I used just a cheap electric flasher. I had the same problems with my tail lights and it was all because they wern't clean. I'm not talking clean to the naked eye, I'm talking clean to a new white cloth. Really clean the sockets well and you shouldn't have any problems.

Just a thought but maybe that electronic flasher isn't seeing enough of a load. Those LED's don't draw alot do they?

What type of flasher is the correct one to make everything work properly?

Wow sorry I missed this post. Yes you may need a electric flasher AutoZone its EL12, but just have to match the stock 552 prongs with a electric one. Let me know if it corrects the problem if not we'll send you a new set.

Also sometimes due to the 30 year old housings they are wore a bit , being careful not to ground out the two terminals at the bottom of the bulb base rap some tin foil around it. And like was mentioned allready clean. Electric parts cleaner, and Q-tip, and then some dielectric grease can't hurt.
Also the springs in old sockets can be weak, so with power off push in on them a few good times while spraying with cleaner. Let me know.
