Warped Bed

I have a 67 C10 Fleetside with about one two inches of sag in the rear driver's side corner of the bed. Inspection shows the bed bolted directly to the frame with no spacers and no apparent frame damage. Should I just unbolt the bed and start adding shims? Thanks

No,it has coil springs. I'm gonna measure the distance between the trailing arms and the frame and see if that could be a problem. Thanks fur writtin'.

If the bed has the same amount of space between the frame and cross rails it is something further down causing the problem.

Measure, measure, measure. Measure everything!, Get it into a shop with a good flat floor, measure floor to frame on each side, Keep notes! Trailing arm to frame, trailing arm to frame at the spring cups, left bottom spring cup to the top right side spring cup and back again.

Measure the front end the same way. It is entirely possible that front suspension may be affecting the bed as well. It is easier to see an issue on the bed because of its relatively long visible horizontal plane compared to the cab.

Don't forget that when she rolled out from the factory the rear was two inches higher than the front, take that into consideration when you make your notes.

After you measure everything on the frame/suspension, start again on the body and look at the relative measurements 'tween the two. You will find the issue.

Yes, after doing some research into older posts here, it would appear that the frame may be bent or twisted aft of the axel. Time to get the chain and cumalong out I suppose. Thanks

When I first bought my truck in '84 the bed sagged on one side slightly. I measured around and found that one of the coil springs in back had sagged about 2 inches or so. (probably from overloading) I took it down to a suspension place and had both rear coils replaced with Moog Cargo-coils. Problem solved.

Don't jump to any conclusions yet, I've seen a lot more trucks out there listing to starboard due to a relitivly minor suspenson issue than a bent frame. Check and measure, could be as simple as a sagging spring or a bent trailing arm.

Check the front springs as well.
