restoring/conditioning/fixing seatbelts???

hello
i was wondering what i could do to fix up the seatbelts in my 78 k10.

there the old cream colored hidious stained belts and are like faded and stiff and itchy when there on you,there grosse.

is there anything i can do to dye them and condition them anyhow?
make them soft,like a newer truck?
i dont want these ithcing me.hah!

I would love to know what secrets are out there for cleaning and softening these belts. My wife refuses to buckle up because they "itch her", so if you've got some tips on making them like new, I'm listening as well.

the leather conditioner actually worked,my dad had a ton from when he was doing the boat interior/seats

i need to find out how to die these a color or somethin now,but thank you so much for th conditioner tip.

now i wont have a red raw spot on my upper body from the stupid seat belts and the friends wont be bugged by them either,especailly the girls.lol

The only type of dye that "might" work is liquid. Any spray dye is going to make them stiff. I would consider removing them and pressure washing to see how well they clean up.

When I restored my old silverado seat belts(smoke doggs truck), I used a bucket of hot water with a half cup of liquid tide and a half cup of degreaser called super clean. I mixed this up in a bucket of hot water and let the belts soak for about 20 minutes. Pulled them out and scrubbed them with a plastic bristle scrub brush, let soak for 10 minutes then sprayed them off and they came out looking good. Then I polished the buckles with mothers.
