Will this fit under my hood?

It's kinda hard to measure clearence under the hood with it shut but the best i can tell the top of the air scoop would stick up an inch or two past the hood. I think it would look cool if the whole scoop would stick outta the hood with about the top of the carb just level with the hood, but i don't think thats going to be the case. if I can't get it like that i'll just keep it all under the hood if i can. this is possibly project engine for my 76, mild blown 383.

I've got a solution. Just send me the motor, and I'll put it in my truck and let you know how it worked out.

and if the above isn't in your best interest, then you could always install it and then put a spacer(s) under the scoop until it sits the height you want it.

The more I think about it, I think you may just be close to having the carb at the top of the hood. It may even be a little taller than the hood. I don't have too much clearance under mine, and I don't have the blower, but my air cleaner is about as thick as your scoop, so if you add the blower to it, it might be close.

Open the hood, put a 2x4 across the hood at the front of the manifold and measure down to the top of the engine block and "gauge" from there. My BBC was 15.75" and I am scared I won't be able to keep the Hilborn horns hidden.
