4x4 suspension ?'s
Ok, I'm kinda lost when it comes to lifts and suspension on these trucks. I'm looking at buying a 4" lift that came off of a 72 Blazer. I'm wondering if it will fit my 72 K-10 and whether or not I've got to lenghthen my drive shafts. Thanks for the help.

Well, I am new to the whole 4x4 thing too and am just getting my feet wet. Don't quote me on this but from what I have gathered, the same lift that you use for the blazer is also used for the trucks. Also, I have heard that if you are just running a 4" lift, you don't need to lengthen the driveshafts, but it's good to have longer brake lines.
You might get some more help if you post this in the 4x4 Discussion section. I hope someone else can either confirm or deny my statements.

I just did this to my 72. Used the 4" lift kit mfg'd by Tuff Country. It is a very complete kit. I didn't have to lengthen the drive shafts. The kit comes with mounting brackets that extend the brake lines without having to replace them. I didn't use them yet and I might not use them. The rear hose is plenty long and I am not climbing any hills or rocks so my suspension will never see that kind of travel.
I did this on a Sunday and didn't plan to replace the bolts. So make sure you get yourself 6 grade 8's, 9/16x4-1/2 or 5" for the rear springs. They don't carry that size at your average hardware store. BTW, These guys had the best deal I could find www.offroaddesign.com/index.htm

I just might take one today. It is bright and sunny out even if it is only 35 degrees! The ride of the truck has greatly inproved too. Less jarring on the spinal column from the springs.
