New to the forum...
Hey guys,
New to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 24 years old from Cullman, AL. The square bodies are my favorite!! I have just started the rebirth of the Grey Ghost, that is the family jewels..lol. Its a charcoal grey 86 custom deluxe, that my dad bought new. The truck has 469000 miles on it and still kicking. It looks rough but who cares, its a family project with my dad, brother, and me. Trying to upload pics..if it doesn't work I may need a little help...Cant wait to meet and talk with everyone on here.. Thanks for a great forum, Buddy Anderson |

Re: New to the forum...
Well not sure yet on the total drop yet but its going to be low, hand built 4 link rear suspension built by me, roll pan, paint work original charcoal color maybe two tone, bucket seats . Drivetrain will be a 6.0 liter LS w/cam and headers to start then will be stroked and big compression, looking for 500hp to the wheels when finished. 20x8.5s on the front and 20x10s on the rear. It make take some time because everything will be done by me except for spraying the color...

Welcome greyghost86! You'll will find alot of info and help on this site when needed. You should be able to get 500hp easy from a 6.0L.

Sounds like a sick plan for an already solid truck. Keep us posted for sure...

Re: New to the forum...
Sounds like you have a pretty good plan, neighbor. Solid starting point. My last squarebody (an '86) was named the Grey Goose, so I kinda dig the name. My '87 was named by my then 9 year old daughter, Bob, so it didn't end up with quite the cool name, but oh well.

Re: New to the forum...
Thanks everyone! All new front suspension is a must. The saddest part of starting the build was I drug it out of the hole at my parents house and put it on the trailer got home put a battery and some trans fluid in it and it cranked on the first try. So I decided it was only right to drive it one last time, after three years of sitting it was surprising, drove like I always remembered.
I guess I should start a build thread with the other pics as progress is made.. |
