Windshield Washer Nozzles on the Wiper Arm
I am shaving my cowl on my 70 because I had to cut through my vent system to install my Vintage Air A/C. In the process I will be shaving the holes for my wiper fluid spray nozzles. I got to thinking I could use the system that sprays from the wiper itself. Has anyone done this or have advice on what would be a good donor vehicle to pull them off of at the junkyard?

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles on the Wiper Arm
I thought about doing this also. It would be nice to get a better spray. My work truck is a 3ton GMC4500 and it has the nozzle clipped to the wiper arm. A longer hose with the clip type nozzle might work. I'd be interested to find out too.

Any 99 and newer Chevrolet truck should have this setup. Now that I think about it my 85 K5 Blazer has this setup also, but it does not work as well as the newer systems.

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles on the Wiper Arm
I went to a local pic a part and had no luck finding a wiper set up. I thought I would resurect this post again to see if anyone has done this or had some good ideas. I am not on the board as much as I would like so I dont know if Putter is still around but he seems like a guy that would have done this.

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles on the Wiper Arm
The 2006 Dodge Sprinter had a nozzle that clipped over the wiper arm that might work. You could get them easily at a Dodge or Freightliner dealer.

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles on the Wiper Arm
Over here a lot of 4x4 places carry aftermarket nozzles that clip to the wiper arm, might be worth a shot.

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles on the Wiper Arm
I have done this to mine. I just took the sprayer and set it in some heated water with the aem and vise grips to make it stay. Now it will just slip on/off.

Nice work Andy. Where did you get your sprayers?

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles on the Wiper Arm
I have done this. I got everything off of an '85-'91 Chevy truck (old body style). The reservoir has a pump in it, so you can ditch the piston pump under the dash. I grabbed all of the hose and fittings to make sure everything was the right diameter. The only real problem I ran into was with the arms themselves. The '85 and up arms are too long for our trucks. I could not use the original arms because the nozzle would point at the back of the blade (not the glass). I ended up taking the blade ends (they are offset to let the blade ride above the arm instead of inline with it) of the '85+ arms out of the sheetmetal lower ends, shortening them and installing them into the stock lower sheetmetal ends from the Suburban. A person could use the entire 85+ arm and just shorten it, but the older trucks used two rivets instead of one like the '85+ trucks use.
The 85+ trucks use a metal tube adapter from 5/32 hose to the micro-sized hose (that runs up the arm) at the pivot. I was not able to make these work on my truck, but I found that Astro vans have a plastic adapter (same sizes) that works great. I have some pics somewhere of this. I will post them up when I find them. The setup is fantastic!! I used it the other night. The only problem is I have to use it when there is no traffic around because it FLOODS the windshield such that I can't see through it.

Here is the pump and jug off a late model small chevy car. Don't remember which model. Works off the factory switch inside. Got the squirters also off the same car.
