New bumper install problem

I have this 72 GMC Truck, when I got it there where no bumbers or other items installed yet due to the pervious owner quit the rebuild. so thats where I came in. I ordered a new bumper and new brackets, I'm having trouble getting the brackets , I've bolted the bumper to the frame and as of right now the driver's left side seems to be real close to the frender compared to the other side. as for the brackets does the oblong hole go to the bumper or frame, and does it bolt to the frame in the front hole or back hole? Help Please

Re: New bumper install problem

Forgot to mention...my truck was all back together before we noticed it....it maybe a little cheaper if you haven't install all the panels yet.....
If that's the case, you may be able to take a few measurements to verify...TO measure, I think I read right rear frame rail to left front frame rail and visa versa....measurements should be pretty close??...

Re: New bumper install problem

geoff is correct, measure the frame from opposing corners to make sure it is square. (if possible)

how do all your body and core support mounts look?

Re: New bumper install problem

The oblong hole on the outer brackets go to the frame. (I know because I just put a new bumper on my truck) If your front frame horns aren't bent too much you can compensate with large washers between the bracket and the inside of the bumper.
