VIN Question
I wanted to ask if anyone has run across non matching VIN's on an original truck. The truck has the follwing VIN Info.
Engine Block # V0615TRL Frame # (just behind the steering box) 72J173407 VIN on Door Jam Plate & Glove Box SPID CKE242J173408 I checked the numbers on the block and the motor is original. The question is, how common was it that GM stamped wrong numbers? Thanks, Scott |

Re: VIN Question
my longhorn is one digit off frame to cab.
When I brought this up back in 02 on here, I was told that if the assembly line damaged a cab, or if one was found to be sub par in build quality, they'd just swing the next cab on the line onto the frame sitting there, making the cab one number higher than the frame, like yours, and mine. |

Re: VIN Question
So, I take it that GM set production runs of the same model trucks will be made at the same time? No c-10's mixed in with c-20's, k-20's, etc.
