Ever wonder what your axle looks like in motion?

Give it an hour or so from the original post time for the quality to bounce up, it's a fresh upload on YT, but ever wonder what our suspension looks like in motion? I plan to get more angles friday.

I know It's not a truck but My dad races a IMCA Dirt Mod and I race a IMCA Sport Compact. Youtube has some cool videos of rear axles. It is amazing how much it moves around.

That was different and interesting all at the same time bet you couldn't wait till you got home and played it back...much less to see if the camera was still there.
Nice sound under there too Texan.

Re: Ever wonder what your axle looks like in motion?

I also got to see how much my tracking bar moves too. Looks like you have a slightly bent right wheel. Did anybody notice that? Anyway, thanks for the informative video.

Yeh, their old steel wheels. Not uncommon for old steel wheels to be a bit out of line. either that or the tires..

Canon A540, point and shoot. Just taped to the back of my bumper, but the larger Powershot series is a very tough camera. I've dropped it numerous times over the past 3 years... Still works perfect.

Today its raining so no dice. I'll do some more tomorrow and stitch it all together.

Re: Ever wonder what your axle looks like in motion?

You have a wobbly tire! But you have good shocks...

I like the technique. It would be a good way to check for an out of balance drive shaft, rear or front tire, bad shock, etc. I've got a wobbly front tire on my Ranger and can't seem to isolate it between left and right. I may tape my camera to the front somewhere to see if can actually see it.

That was very cool. Just looking at the frame you'd think the truck was parked.
