How accurate is the Desktop Dyno?
Within 20 HP/TRK?

i've heard it is within 4 % either way

man thats a loaded question....I have found the torque curve is usually much higher in the rpm range than DD2000. If you enter all the parameters correctly(head flow,valve size,cam and cam timing) you can get pretty close. Usually on the high side. The real purpose of the program, is to compare different parts, to see which work best together. My engine on DD2000 shows right at 400HP and 420ftlbs of torque..in reallity its 365HP and 400ftlbs of torque. To be fair, with some more tuning, I might be able to reach the 400HP.

Hotrod mag rated it 3 out of 5, 5 being an engine dyno. You can get pretty close if you know the exact flow numbers to put in otherwise it is almost always spits out pretty "optimistic" numbers. On the other hand a chassis dyno is only a little better for accuracy.
