Is your slider window noisy?

I swapped a back sliding window from a junkyard chevy in my truck which had a non-slider.

I love the extra airflow but this thing rattles, I wish I checked it out more thoroughly. The slider has lots of play and it can be moved side to side.

Any suggestions?

Re: Is your slider window noisy?

its prolly missing some kind of weatherstrip.. See if you have an extra window felt from the top of a door panel and see if you can slip a cut off piece in the track to stop some of the rattle

Re: Is your slider window noisy?

Old Rusty C10 is right, it most likely is missing a piece of weatherstrip. My slider is just the opposite of yours, it's so tight that it's hard to open the window.

Yes sir I race a rmz250. I use to be a member at Rocky Hill but not any more. I've only been there like 3 times this year. I got in to a local club in Milford, CT so I've been racing there. I'll be over in NY in november for the arenacross.

Thanks guys, I will check out the weatherstripping.

Re: Is your slider window noisy?

Mine rattled like mad. I cut some little pieces of rubber and mounted on a rod which pushes into the window track. If i want to open the window i have to take it out but its not to hard to do.
