side mirror screw hole things...

ive had my side mirrors off for awhile now and its time to weld up the holes. my question is..how do ya get the threaded inserts out of the door? do they have to come out from the rear or be drilled out? anyone know what im talking about?

I ground mine off with a grinder, they fell right out.
