two speed cloum to shift three speed tranny.

can i use the auto colum in a 66 c10 that came with a 327 and a power glide two speed , to shift a th400 . and i seen a diffrent bezel marked for three speeds some were . also any idea how far i will have to move the tranny cross memmber fwd if at all thank you in advance .

Yes the original column will work with your TH400. I didn't change the indicator on mine yet. I don't know how much you'll have to move the crossmember since I moved my engine forward at the same time. If you leave the engine in the original location it may line up with some of the holes. If not just drill them.

thank you very much , is there sapposed to be some kind of bushing on the frame were part of the linking goes in .

I believe so. My Suburban didn't have any linkage when I got it, so I just fabbed my own.

Here is a factory automatic shift linkage at the frame rail & tranny. I have several '60-'66 Chevy/GMC trucks with automatics and there are a few variations, but I have seen this setup, more times than not.
