Exclamation 72 body on a 86 frame?

Hey everyone i got a 72 swb 2wd and am curious to know if its possible to put it on a 86 swb 4x4 frame? Or is it to much trouble? Will it bolt rite up? Thanx

Thanks alot bud. I'm just tired of seeing all these sweet 67-72 swb 4x4's and not having one for myself. SO thanks alot guys!!!!

A little relocation of the early body mount stands onto the newer frame, shorten the newer frame about 1-1/2" and use a 3" body lift to get the cab of the older truck to clear the newer 4x4 drive train and frame changes.

Not a quick swap but fairly straight forward.

Putting a Burb body onto a frame is a whole different animal than what I did.

well, i have a starnge plan, but i havnt seen it before,

a 68 burban, on a 80 1 ton 4x4 long bed,

Im gonna chop the back of sub off and put a truck cab on it, then fill in the space behind the new crew cab with shortend bed sides,

pretty much a Crew 68, short wheel base, for crawling with family
