Ok guys I just scored a 89' suburban yesterday from a guy who was tha orignal owner and he sold it 4 $200!!!! it's got a fuel injected 350/700 combo wit only 98 thousand orignal miles on it and power everything that will soon b switched as well!!!! and its in mint condition!! wit only a small ding on tha pass. fender. I want 2 swap tha front clip on it and put it on my 84 truck but it is missing tha pass. side headlight bezel, Ive searched high and low for any burb' parts in tha past @ my local pick and pulls but 2 no avail and all tha burbs i found tha front clip is already been takin so i kno i cant find it there and other than tha local junk yard and LMC does n e 1 kno where i could get my hands on 1?? n e help would b much appreicated. I would like 2 swap everything over asap but i dont want 2 change a perfecty good front clip 2 one that is missing tha healight bezel it would look kinda funny i think. But hey u cant really argue with $200 bucks!! LOL
O yea b 4 I 4get could some on here b so kind as 2 post up a link 2 swappin front clips please.... I cant seem 2 find a good one. Thanks guys 4 n e help in advance

Re: Tha deal of a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually it was my first time ever doing anything like this. honestly it wasn't too bad. the other member that I got the 81 parts from gave me a hand to make sure everything went smoothly. So if you've got a buddy to help thats good if not it will just take alot longer. Also I highly recommend that you make sure the parts match. that's why we laid them out in the yard to compare every bolt hole in the radiator supports. I did have to cut a small 3inch notch out of the passenger side for the condesor lines. just keep track of your bolts as your taking them off. I started with the hood, then the grill and light bezels, then the bumper the the little shield plate in between the bumper and radiator then removed all the radiator bolts across the top and the 3 down each side of the inner part of the fenders. The toughest bolts are at the bottom of the radiator core support. mine were rusted and we made a lunch time beer run to the parts store to get new bolts.
Then put everything back together and cut the wiring for the lights and match color for color to hook lights back up. I still need to finish my bumper lights but you wont have those. Then make sure your new lights are working and leveled out. good to go. |

I tend to ignore your posts Mr.Scary it is so very annoying, to me, to read your shorthand, guess it is one of my pet peeves. If you have something worth saying, why not type it out completely? just by your demeanor, and your shorthand, I assume you are a young guy? Is proper grammar too "uncool" for you? Take some pride in your posts. just my $0.02 rant over please don't take this as an attack on your character, because it most certainly isn't.
