Re: Truck on ebay

Thats my favorite truck on the board....My guess is that it will sell for $27,875.87.....plus or a minus a few pennies

And I think its worth it!....If you get two collectors that really want it bidding against each other, it could go much higher!

Re: Truck on ebay

Rackman I hope you are right. I am really torn to sell this truck. But my collection is basically all GMC's now and this takes up a ton of space in my limited shop. And I have things I want to finish this winter in hopes of taking one to the national ATHS meet in Pleasanton in may.

Re: Truck on ebay

Well this truck is back up on ebay. High bidder nufrontier was a guy named Paul Thorndyke of Saskatchewan Canada. He called me every other day for two weeks with a different BS story. Bottom line was he didn't have the money to be bidding in the first place. I got screwed, which was my fault by not sticking to my simple terms in the first place and letting him lead me along a few weeks with empty promises. But I know the downfalls of selling something on ebay.
I am glad he did not get it in the end as he planned to drive it home over 2k miles. It only has 4k original. Why would you do that?

Re: Truck on ebay

My best buddy is from SK and I wouldn't ever generalize anyway. I just wanted to give his name and location to other guys in the truck world since I was deceived on the off chance it saved someone else the headaches of dealing with this guy (since he says he collects 1968 trucks). And the only recourse I have is to blast him since there is nothing that can be done legally.
As to sending a second chance offer, they are usually a scam. I did contact the second bidder to let him know I relisted it.

Re: Truck on ebay

I have bought & sold dozens of vehicles on Ebay...none of which ever went the duration and actually closed through the auction itself!

I use it strictly for advertising....find the right person, who has the $$ and do the deal outside of the auction....Thats what nearly everyone does these days on Ebay!.....thats why its a flat listing fee!

When you get an offer from a stand up guy....have him wire transfer a big deposit immediatley and keep the auction running until he does....

Way too many flakes out there!

Re: Truck on ebay

Hey you know what they say when it comes to fire trucks? Love is a fire truck? That would be neat to have but limited apllications.
