tire cut out
Whats up with the tire cut out in the stepside back fender, can you buy a peice to fill that in, just can't picture driving around with the tire hanging off the side of the truck, it looks like your drivin a farm truck, If its bone stock I can appreciate it, but not if your trying to customize it a bit, am I out to lunch here or does anyone else think that tire thing looks a little corny, I ask cause I got my eye on a stepside

Back in the day these little jewels were ment for work....haha....not looks
 To my knowledge they do not make a fill in piece for that, your best bet is to find a wrecking yard or a swap meet and do some searching :-)

can't you just pop the tack welds loose & flip the panel over & reweld it. then touch up the body work

Save those cutouts. Many like them and they don't repo them. Yes, I know I'm weird (hey ask my 14 year old...she'll confirm it) I like mine. I am working on patching it to last another 33 years now.

I'm in the same position. Got a '69 stepside with the spare tire cut out that I'd love to get rid of. Having 6-lug rims with 30" meats on the back and 5-lug rims and 27" meats just doesn't make it easy to carry a spare. I'd have to make a cut out on the other side. I talked to a body shop and he said he could form some metal to cover it up, I may have to go that route. Unfortunately, just popping the bond and flipping it over won't work. The contours are different.

i have seen a guy take one and put a round metal cover up there like there was a tire but it would open up and it had small shelves and stuff where he could keep his tools
