air conditioning

does anyone know if the ac unit from a 73-87 chevy truck will(can be modded) to fit our trucks? found a 87 cab online that has a/c and it looks alot like the factory setup on our trucks. just curious, cuz im not a fan of the aftermarket add-on setups.

Re: air conditioning

I pondered this myself seeing that I have a junk 85 a/c cab sitting around. I will not say that it can not be done, but looks to be next to impossible. The housings are nothing alike, the area behind the dash on the newer trucks is larger than the older ones so I doubt you could physically squeaze the heater/ air box behind the dash of these trucks. I never put a tape to anything, but just looking things over I decided even against removing the pieces from the 85 and attempting such a feat.
