Re: Faded paint
all original one year ago. My grandpa bought it in 79. It was like brand new. It is in about 1000 pieces and parts now. Going back with the original look, except shinier.

Re: Faded paint
Joesjunk and Kweetech vehicles are excellent examples of how great original vehicles look when they super clean. Many original trucks seem to be associated with missing parts, a beat up weathered body and mechanical disrepair. IMO, an original vehicle should be at stock height and have stock wheels. 2fat2Furious 67 GMC 3/4 4X4 is the type of vehicle that collectors dream of finding. Thanks for others who posted there original trucks.

Re: Faded paint
Here is my original paint 72 Cheyenne Super. Many years ago the paint was touched up and the seat recovered. Front of hood, cab under the gas fill and over the drivers rear wheel well were touched up. Other than that, minor mechanical repairs and dual exhaust the truck in original.
EDIT: Hmmm somehow it looks much better in the pics. It really is pretty faded. LOL.

Re: Faded paint
This is one of mine - '68 GMC - it gets used as a driver. Had it a while, haven't done much to it.
The '67 Chevy - CST, 454, Turbo 400 - is a project-in-waiting. Should have let the previous owner keep it.

Re: Faded paint
c/10 King Your trucks are beautiful. Just wondering if some of them have been restored or are they all original. Their's alot of junk here in Il, and no way you'll ever see a original truck. I've been looking for one for awhile, but everything is either custom or junk. Thanks for your pics and thanks for loving these old trucks too. oldno7

Re: Faded paint
Guess it depends on your interpretation. I'm sure 99% of these trucks have at least had the wearable items replaced. Just to hide the evidence I deleted the pics of mine with the wheels showing as well as the one under the hood with the red heater hose showing. Does Window tint and an old ass Z-Rock sticker count as "not 100% original"?

Re: Faded paint
In IMO, an 100% original vehicle should resemble the way it looked when sold at the dealership, minus normal wear and tear, weathering and replacement of maintainence items. Major componets should be of "date of manufacture" .All period correct accessories are fine, such as larger mirrors or extra fuel tanks doors, which are very common during the era. The dictionary defines original as:" belonging or pertaining to the orgin or beginning of something or to a thing at its beginning." I am not going to split hairs over decals, spark plugs or original radiator hoses, but rally or wagon wheels were never installed by the factory during the 67 thru 72 era. Some of us want to see historically correct vehicles when someone asks for 100% original.
