How to hook up heater core?

Swaped a the 250 for a 305 tpi engine into my 67, during the summer. Now its geting cold out and I cant figure out where the heater core hooks up to. this engine has no fiting on the water pump. The tpi has been removed, and it has a manifold where I could hook up some fittings, but im not sure which ones. Anyone have any experience with this type of thing?

Re: How to hook up heater core?

I took mine off one of the tapped holes in the head then returned it to the inlet side of the water pump. I get more then enough hot air and I don't have the hose on top of the motor.

Re: How to hook up heater core?

Looks like there is a temp sensor in the side of the head, but its kind of close to the header. I guess the heater core return is to the manifold? I just need to find a supply. There are 3 tapped holes in the intake that I have pluged off. There is one on each side of the thrmostat, and one close to the firewall on the drivers side of the engine. Would any of these feed coolant to the heater core?

Re: How to hook up heater core?

Your supply has to come off the engine either at the manifold or a head. In order to get circulation it has to return either to the suction side of the water pump or directly to the radiator.
