ok im getting ready to start my air suspension on my 68 swb. the previous owner started a Z on the frame, its just spotwelded not complete. he did about two inches and i was wondering if i can complete the 2 inch Z and then install a dropmember. i want the narrow track with and the centered wheel the DM provides. i have owned the truck for about 3 years and purchased an Ls1 last week for it so the frame needs to get done. i plan on running 24in wheels all around and want it as low as possible. thanks for all input.

There was one other truck done(started?) this way. I think you'll at least have to run stock spindles, though I dunno w/ fours- depends on tire size... Depending on where the cuts were made, everything should line up. You will have cab/trans clearance problems for sure..

why dont you cut it back off and weld it back to stock?

thaks for the input guys. the reason for not re-welding it back to stock is i figure i will be able to run 24's and still get damm close to the ground. i understand the hood will be an issue but unless i find or u guys tell me of any other major issues i want to give the 24,s a try. what are any disadvantages mof running stock vs drop spindles?? thanks guys.... pics coming soon
