Your workmanship, design, engineering, and fabrication skills are amazing! Love the fit and appearance of the dimpled bumper.

Re: Project '66 Dirtrod: K-30 Extended Cab
Alright, well the bumper ended up having more flexibility in it than we wanted so we added a few gussets to the back side.
We took all the paint off the bumper, sandblasted the radiator support to get ready for the brace work on that, and trimmed the grill support fro some clearance we needed.

Re: Project '66 Dirtrod: K-30 Extended Cab
I really never liked the cross bars in the radiator support so we decided to cut them out and put gussets in instead. My dad also welded up most of the seams
We wanted a stronger base the the radiator support so we reinforced the bottom channel a little bit

Re: Project '66 Dirtrod: K-30 Extended Cab
With all this done, it was time for body mounts...
I wanted something different since there was so much space to fill We added the top plate then pulled it off to weld it up and add the back plates Then we made some reinforcing washers for the spring hangers and my dad welded them on

Re: Project '66 Dirtrod: K-30 Extended Cab
The fabrication is awesome!! You have some excellent ideas and craftsmanship to go with it.
Can you tell me what kind of fitment you have were the exhaust pipes meet the collectors? And btw, are you going to fill all the holes in that bumper with some running lights? |

It's looking good, But please tell me you had some protection on while blasting. That dust can do some nasty stuff to the lungs.

Re: Project '66 Dirtrod: K-30 Extended Cab
Thanks guys! My dad got the clevis mounts drilled out to 15/16" and welded up (they were 7/8 but that was too small for my clevises).
I've been pulling the front clip off and on constantly for the last couple months so once we get some warm weather we'll prime and paint the front plate and put it on for good so hopefully i won't have to see her like this anymore.

Re: Project '66 Dirtrod: K-30 Extended Cab
Hopefully not too heavy... for a full-sized one ton.
But thats where the holes help...
