Re: This CL add made me laugh
not off of craiglist but i recenty bought a 71 CST K-5 blazer in a similar situation. I was looking at a 99 truck this guy had and he pretty much said this, Just moved in my new house, just got laid off, you can buy the blazer tomorrow morning or i will crush it tomorrow afternoon'..not much more hoent than that. 4WD, automatic, NP205, tilt wheel, factory tach dash, decent tub. Currently tied down to a 69 SWB so i have no need for it, but maybe a project down the road. I could not see that old truck crushed fod a few hundred bucks...so i drug it home...this guy would be the opposite of the craiglist post.scott

Re: This CL add made me laugh
Can't say that I blame him. I won't sell vehicles to people that are just going to junk them either. If the vehicle is THAT beyond repair, then I will junk it MYSELF.
These junker/scrapper people really tick me off. I see them running around all the time pulling decent old vehicles to the scrapyard only to get $100-150 for them. Same way with old cars. If I find out someone is going to put a car into the demolition derby I will NOT sell it to them. The demolition derby is a crock.

Re: This CL add made me laugh
Parting trucks is part of the deal, how else do guys get parts to fix up their old trucks. Alot of parts are not repro'd. Finding trucks around here for under $500 is almost impossible. Its like a DONOR program, you part them to keep other old trucks on the road. You'd be amazed how many guys say they don't want to sell them to someone who will part them out then later on down the road haul them to scrap, now thats a waste
