Re: Pics of the 72 with ECE 4/6 Drop
I did not do a notch.
I've been told its not needed, & from what I've seen and the very few miles I've driven it, I dont think it will need one. |

Re: Pics of the 72 with ECE 4/6 Drop
Thanks...it was a pretty easy install.
The shock mount rivet removal was a little time consuming & then the nuts on trailing arm u-bolt i dont think had ever been removed and so it took a massive cheater bar to break them loose but it all worked out great. Last edited by JWall; 01-11-2010 at 10:12 AM. |

Re: Pics of the 72 with ECE 4/6 Drop
I wanna be careful not to jack the thread, but this is a great time to point out things I'm looking at.
Your truck has about the same height as JWall's but the wheels are not tucked in in the rear as much. Instead of the "cat ready to pounce" look, the purple truck is something more akin to a race truck--which is the look I want this time around, too. JWall's looks like stock Rallye width, offset and backspacing, right? Purple's looks like wider or at least more offset rears than front?

We did have a little resistance with the u-bolts, and mainly when replacing them with the new ones. (one was to narrow) After widening the u-bolt and with a little assistance, it finally went in.

Re: Pics of the 72 with ECE 4/6 Drop
Great job on your truck. In my opinion the stance is perfect for your truck and everything about your truck works together. Now get out there put some miles on her and enjoy !!!
I have a long box and after looking at the stance on your truck it assures me that I have the right specs figured out for my truck. I am going with the 2 1/2 in. dropped spindle and 1" lower front coil for a 3 1/2 front drop. In the rear I am going with a 5" dropped spring with shock relocators and super trac bar. I will run 15 x 8 rallys with 255/70r15 tires which are 29.04 inches high as opposed to your 235/70R15 which are 27.94 inches high. I am thinking because my tires will be little higher and my drop not as low as yours my truck should sit and look like yours does in the pics and that is the look/stance I want. I notice you have Cooper Cobras on your truck and that is the tires I want as well.
