Re: Anyone running one of these on a 2wd

I personally like the looks of them being on... it finishes it out. When the are off and you are looking at your vehicle say 20' or more.. you can see all the supports, sway bar, etc. Yeah mine drags as well... but it's not that big of a deal.

Re: Anyone running one of these on a 2wd

I'll throw my $.02 in I know for a fact that when I dump my air on the interstate (they just paved so it's like glass) my truck drops the 4/5" to about 1/2" off the ground and you can feel it by the seat of your pants that the truck isn't fighting to keep the speedo needle pointed due south ..gotta love 308 gears for that

Re: Anyone running one of these on a 2wd

NOW,
does anybody have one that looks ok on the older style bumper? I agree with what a previous poster said... when my truck is parked in the garage and I pull in the drive from the street all I can see are control arms!

Don't use a 4X4 air dam on a lowered truck! I tried it. Air drag was noticeable. I changed back to a 4X2.

I must say this was very interesting to read. Thank you to everyone, I now believe that little piece of plastic will improve MPG....

Re: Anyone running one of these on a 2wd

Don't they offer 2 different heights for these also? I thought I saw that somewhere, it may not be a stock option but I think someone made 2 aftermarket sizes. As far as seeing your control arms, mine is bagged and when laid out the valance is on the ground and the only reason you can't see my c arms. I have the dropmember but not installed yet to fix that. The control arms are the lowest point on these trucks and would take a big piece to hide that.

4X2 air dam

4X4 air dam without holes. I think it measures slightly over 4" at center.

Early classic enterprises sells them. Just get a set for a 67-72, I just put a set on my truck a few weeks ago.

I have the 81+ one on my '78, I'll try and get a picture of it in a few days. It bolted right up to the bumper, but I had to notch it around the bumper guards. Looks good to me though. I noticed the front end dosent seem as light on the interstate after I put it on. I dont even try to figure out what kinda milage it gets. I know its bad....

Didn't notice anything different on mine with the 4by, gives the truck a more agressive look

Re: Anyone running one of these on a 2wd

mine got pretty beat up the first time I pulled it out of the driveway, but I have had fun with it there was a shoe in the middle of the road I hit and moved it about 10 feet and also I graded gravel with it, if it was a 4wd drive one it wouldn't of lasted me a day

I run the tall one. It looks much better from the front than the short one did.
