TBI 350/700R4 or 6.2 diesel Swap?

Just wondering who here has converted to TBI. I origionally planned to use TPI but since I have everything for TBI thought I would just swap it in. I am using an 87 Suburban as my parts donor for the front suspension, figured why not just swap the TBI 350 and 700R4 as well, I already have a TBI Blazer tank to go under the bed. I figure that since it moved the big burb around pretty well it would do good in a shortbed pickup too. I am really just looking for a good reliable cruisers that I would have no problems hoping in and taking a 2-3 hour drive. I think this would fit the bill well.

On the other hand I also have a 87 pickup that has the 6.2 diesel I would consider swapping. It has been a VERY reliable truck over the years and the engine/trans are in top shape, but the body is beat to hell and I really don't need the truck anymore as I have others to use. I would really consider swapping the diesel in as well.

So has anyone else done these swaps? Any pics or tips you would like to share? Which would you do and why?

Re: TBI 350/700R4 Swap?

I've done the swap on lots of 73-87 style trucks over the years and even several cars of different vintages. So I am no stranger to the swap itself. Just wondered if anyone had done it in a 60-66, also wondered if anyone had done the 6.2 diesel swap. And of course maybe a little help deciding which to do for my 63.

I think I would do the tbi swap. I might be wrong but I think it would be a easier swap.

Okay, I'm confused. If you've done lots of these swaps on trucks and cars, and you're no stranger to the swap why do you think the 60-66 swap would be any different?

Re: TBI 350/700R4 Swap?

I don't think it is different as far as doing the swap. Just wondering if anyone one else here has done it. Just curious if I would be the only one I guess. Sorry if I gave the impression I was asking "how to".
