Re: What's worth more ???????
Since everyone wants a short bed, there is a higher demand for them. People cut down perfectly good long beds to satisify the demand. Who knows, maybe in 20-30 years I may have the only long bed in extistence.

Re: What's worth more ???????
1967 -1970, the long beds do beat out the short beds in pricing by a few bucks, but the 1971 and 1972, the shorts beds are more than the long beds. What gives? It must be a production thing.

NADA is stupid on classics.
SWB will always be worth more than a LWB. |

Re: What's worth more ???????
Well now. It depends on what your haulin. This weekend I moved a king size 5 piece bedroom suit, and the long bed was worth a lot more than the short bed then. LOL
My favorite is a short step, but it will haul the least. Trucks are like motorcycles; the cooler they look the less useful they are. |

I agree 100% ...Even though I like my 70cst ...I realize if it was a SWB it would be worth more $$$ and likely more desirable.

Re: What's worth more ???????
I would also say the short fleet is worth more than the short step. Seems like short fleet beds get snatched up quicker and are wanted to be traded for more than any other bed. Trevor

SWB is worth more, no matter what year.

Re: What's worth more ???????
Functional value always favors the long wheel base trucks, particularly the 4x4 variety. After all it is a truck

Re: What's worth more ???????
I'm still a little confused by the comparison of the "book" values! I've been working on, buying, and selling these trucks off-and-on for years, and I've never seen a COMPARABLE short-bed bring less than a long-bed. Guys (and gals, no discrimination here) will have their preferences, but the average buyer, with cash in hand, will pay more for a short than a long. (Now, that might be the distinction between the guys and the girls, but, probably shouldn't go there!!)
