Finally!!! 67 C10
Well I finally got the foundation to my dream truck. I inherited my greatgrandfather's 1967 C10 Shortbed. Its a barebones model, no options, no power steering/brakes, I6, 3 on the tree, etc. My uncle has had it for about the last 10 years, and has not driven it since 2001, he couldn't find the keys, so I have not had time to try to start it yet, so I will either hotwire it temporarily, or get a key made, or swap out lock cylinders.
On to the pics: 71,128 Miles

Re: Finally!!! 67 C10
The bad: The only rusted through spot I found, looks to be from water stuck in the door that came from the window channel and had no where to go, Much better than I have seen in other trucks. Rust from the spot where my greatgrandpa's arm rubbed the paint off (when I was a kid it was still just a shiny bare spot on the door) Only wrinkle on the body, the rest was super straight. 1967 NC Tag I will try to restore this one and run it, but my father in law has a nice 1967 tag I may try to get. Time to unload it into it's temporary resting place. (It will get moved into the shop once I get it running, but right now my greatgranpa's 1946 Ford 2N is sitting in its way)

Re: Finally!!! 67 C10
Thanks, and definitely not! It will be coming off as soon as I get time to clean all the clutter out of the bed of stuff that has been stored back there.
I have pretty big plans for the truck in the future: thinking LS swap, 5/6 speed with overdrive, low static drop, and probably some 20x8s in the front and 20x10s in the rear with some nice wide tires, custom gauges, vintage air, etc. Also plan on shaving the gutters smooth, pulling the cab off the frame and cleaning/painting the frame, then shaving all the molding holes and painting it probably GM Arrival Blue. BUT all that will be in the distant future. In the mean time I plan to get it running with the 6 cyl, patch the rust in the door, and drive it. Also if anyone has the lower rear drivers quarter panel molding / trim lying around I would be interested in picking it up. I would rather not buy new pieces as it will be removed when I actually get around to painting the truck, but in the meantime I would like to have the missing piece and drive it with the original look for a while.

Re: Finally!!! 67 C10
Great plans! If I could figure out a way to get the topper down to FL, I would take it off your hands. I've been looking for one to put on my 68 farm truck for a while....

Looks like a nice truck, the last pic is my favorite. I'm assuming your great grandpa bought it new?

Re: Finally!!! 67 C10
I like the last two pics... great story, I like the "shop truck" look with a filler drivetrain and suspension... I wouldn't touch the paint.

And no, the tailgate was replaced sometime in the last 10 years since I saw the truck. Last I remember it had a huge dent in it. When I get around to painting the truck I will definitely go with a CHEVROLET tailgate.

Very nice!
My grandpa's old trucks were all rusted out POS NY trucks. Most of the interior of one of his 72's made it into my 67 though
