Need some help

I'm currently working on a project and I'm having some issues on figuring out what I have. I can't seem to find out what rear axle it has. From what I've found in my searches this axel is in 73-87 chevys, but mine is on a 70 chevy. Is this the stock axel and does it have a splitter or locker?? Its a 10 bolt and I have some pictures if that helps. All info is greatly appreciated.

That is an Eaton HO52 or HO72. Last year of that rear was 72. Earliest versions date back at least into the 50's. Very strong, parts are very expensive.

Maximum Traction rear diff was an option (Detrot Locker) but not guaranteed. Do you have the SPID in the glove box?

HO was replaced with corporate 14 bolt starting in 73. Brand new 2500 gas trucks come with a related axle. Very strong and very cheap.

the SPID is the sheet of paper that should be on the back side/inside of the glove box door that tell what all options the truck came from like a/c engine size, trim....

Yup, but the guy I bought it from seemed to think that it didn't mean much. Example:

Any ideas on how I could possibly recover all the lost info on my pickup??? I'm guessing that GM wouldn't have the data and if they did they would charge you??

they don't have the info.
You can pull your seat and look underneath, tucked between the springs and foam, the build sheet may be there, but probably not.
The actual name is the GM corperate rear, it has an eaton diff (which is why we refer to it as the eaton rear). Yours would be the HO52 since it has coils. The HO52 was in 3/4 tons, and the HO72 was in one tons (not avalible with coils).
