water pump
I found a cheap suburban that the previous says needs a new water pump, or maybe a radiator or maybe a thermostat.....He really has no clue what's wrong with it other then "it leaks from the area behind/below the fan.
My question is what needs to be done in order to drive the beast home? can i fill it up with antifreeze and hope it makes it the 45mile drive home? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Re: water pump
It sounds like a water pump issue from the description. If it's just a little leak then it is probably antifreeze comming out of the weap hole on the pump. That indicates the seals on the pump are wearing out. So if it's that small of a leak I would say 45 mi is not out of the question. if it's more then that then maybe your pushing it.

Re: water pump
make sure no cracked block crawl under and look for cracks around mounts,or fill and run while looking, water would be fine if not to cold
