bedside angle help

I am ready to install my new angle strips on my bedside. The question I have do I need to weld them in solid or just some half or 1" welds every 3 or 4 ". As we know they were spot welded in from the factory. Thanks !!

Re: bedside angle help

I drilled 3/8 dia holes about every 20" along the angle and spot welded it to the bed side. Grind the welds and there you go. No need to weld them in solid. If you do stitch weld it the top of the angle could pull in from the bed sides. If that is the way you just have to do it I would suggest not welding the top edge as that would look kluged. Spot welding is the way to do it.

Be sure to locate the angle strip correctly or your bed will be hard to get level.
