what year did 292 start in
i have a 64 c10 long bed fleet. i have 292 in it. i always thought that it was original but yesterday someone told me that 292 option did not start till 66.
so what year did 292 start and what color should the engine be? |

I know a guy that had a 65 3/4 ton and it had a 292 in it. It might have been an option. If you look behind the seat you might be able to see the build sheet and see what it came with. This only works if you have the original seat the the build sheet is still in one piece.

I have a 292 in my 64 long bed but after rebuild it got painted Chevy orange. Good info, thanks.

The 250 in trucks(first year '66) was about the same green color...looked surprisingly like the color of the 327's. Hmmmm
