Rear Bumper (Non step)
This might seem like a stupid question but, can the same rear bumper be used on Burbs, Blazers,and trucks? I am looking to replace the rear step bumper on my project, with the bumper off of a Blazer or Suburban.

aftermarket book says fleetside/blazer/suburban so I would have to say yes.

I believe the bumper brackets are different for the non step version so if you get one you will need to grab the brackets as well.

Thanks guys. One of the local yards (they pull the parts) has one for $ 75.00. I am going to check the pick and pull on Saturday for something cheaper. My truck originally had idiot lights and the PO added aftermarket gauges and screwep up all of the wiring. I am thinking about pulling a wire hareness and instrument cluster at the same time

You can use the blazer/burban bumper but you will only be able to use the outer brackets. I just recently did the same thing you are doing to your truck and it looks 1000X better than with the step bumper and mine is just driver quality.

So has anybody used the suburban brackets on a pickup?
I know the outside ones work but was not sure about the center ones, i only could get a set of brackets from a suburban because the pullapart yard here sets the trucks on rims and they put them under the back bumpers of every truck in the place. Last edited by lester622; 03-07-2010 at 11:23 PM. |

I'm using the center brackets from a burb on mine and using flat stock to bolt to the frame to the bracket

I did manage to find that rear step bumper @ a pick and pull up in Maryland. Pulled it off of an 82' SWB. Bumper and all of the brackets for $ 43 bucks and some change (covered in another post I have on here)
