Clutch linkage replacement... better than stock?
All, In going back to a manual trans, I've acquired all the parts I need for the job, though as I look at the linkage, everything between the arm on the pedal and the fork in the bellhousing, it's all worn to hell. I priced out all the parts from LMC and it came to around $125 without shipping and I got to wondering... is there a better way, a kit, an upgrade out there that I'd be better off with?

Your other option is digging through the salvage yards. You guys seem to have alot of them down there. |

do what I did, bearings to replace the ball joints on the z bar, then small heim joints on a threaded rod to replace the shift link. I'll try to get a pic.

Re: Clutch linkage replacement... better than stock?
So I was working on this tonight, Napa said they had the lower piece... WRONG!!! BUT I do now have the piece that goes into the bellcrank, so I'm thinking of making the rod. Cold rolled 3/8 bar should be stout enough, right, I'll just run a die over one end to ct some threads. Is that what you used 67mater?

I just bought threaded rod to match my heim joint, but yeah, I welded the end that mates to the fork on. I also recall putting a jog in. I can get a pic this afternoon.
