Re: chuys build
Ok so works going slow.
Went to selma swap meet and enjoyed it. I purchased a 71 long bed for parts. It has a good wrench 350 and a stick shift tranny. I only want some parts so im going to have fenders, bed, hood etc left over. How do i figure out a price for which to sell them? |

Re: chuys build
hey everyone, did i create this thread in the wrong section.( just asking from lack of replies)
ok well the goodwrench engine i have needs a carb. i checked the engine and it gave me this code. 10066036 when i browse online i get this "10066036...350...........2 or 4...Target Master/Goodwrench crate motor, 2-piece rear seal, "Hecho en Mexico" which doesn't really mean much to me. how do i figure out the HP, specs etc? how do i figure out what parts i can add to it? |

Re: chuys build
You created the thread in the right place. Might want to let everyone know what you are working on, what your plans are, what the truck looks like, etc.
Oh, and the more pics the better. As far as figuring out a price to sell your parts, check ebay, craigslist and the for sale section here. It will help give you ideas. As far as the cab goes, alot of guys like shaved cabs...you might be able to sell it or trade it. As far as the motor goes, Im not much help there. If you want to sell your parts or post a Whats it worth ad, you can become a site supporter and post them up. Its the best $25 you can spend.

Re: chuys build
im a member now!
finally got the bags off. ill see if i can hit avs tomorrow and get some schrader valves. does anyone know what these lines are for? they where on the gas tank and they go somewhere i cant reach. my parts truck is all torn apart by now.(used to be complete) This is the heater area on my parts truck and this is the one for the truck im building. ive already cut the holes back out again though. they are different so am going to have to sell the heater core and flapper thing from my parts truck and get new ones? . this is the middle of the top of my dash from the underside. what got covered? also these mirrors came on my parts truck. they dont look original? they're next to some moldings i yanked off my parts truck doors. |

Re: chuys build
Congrats on becoming a site supporter!
As far as the lines, those are for ventilation for your gas tank. I couldn't tell you where they go though. Never actually seen a setup up close. The pics of the heater holes kinda throw me off but it looks like one is for a A/C setup and the other is for a Non-A/C setup. What got covered on your dash was the original speaker hole. The mirrors you have are not original. I've seen and had plenty of those. Must have been a pretty common aftermarket mirror at the time.

Re: chuys build
alright. i haven't done much, no funds! i do have alot of misc stuff but im having trouble selling even when i dropped the prices low. I got discouraged on some items and scrapped em!
Ok so i purchased a nice 1969 GMC to pull some parts off of. i finally dropped my engine in. i ran into a problem. i completly forgot how the engine harness goes and where it connects to. i also had alot of trouble mounting the engine perches but i got it down.

Re: chuys build
Keep at it. You're doing a good job. Post some pictures of what engine harness ends you are unsure about...I'd be happy to try to help you out.

Re: chuys build
unfortunatly the PO shaved the part for the original fuse box, i tried to cut it back out and i cut a bit too much! i needa weld it back up. id like to install a newer style wiring kit but they're pretty expensive! saw one that sold in the FS section fir $160! wish i had spotted it earlier.
