Small rear window ?

Did any 73-87's come with a small rear window? If not, has anyone ever done this?

My pop's truck is a 63 Step with the small rear window and I like the look.

Re: Small rear window ?

yes id like to see this, but i am a bug fan also, wonder what a retro split pop-out back window would look like with a bar in the middle (just wondering, cus definately the 3piece glass one has to be a better look)

Re: Small rear window ?

I was thinking you could just hinge it at the top and pop it out at the bottom. If I'm making the panel I can use any year rear window I want then. It would be a lot easier to get it to seal on the gasket than a roll down. Even though the roll down would be awesome.

Re: Small rear window ?

youd be able to get it to seal on the roll down also. Just like your windows in your door. It would be all hidden away it would be different.

Re: Small rear window ?

C60/65/70/75/80/85's. Th back panel has the recess stamped for a regular window, but the cut out is smaller and it takes the small window. Looks like it would weld in in plac of the existing back panel with no issues.

if you want swing out how about a pop up sunroof or a motor coach (camper/RV ) window? Or find a shop that knows how to bond properly and use S10 hinge/latch? or jsut grab the back window out of a topper and makes some mods?

Re: Small rear window ?

the window didn't pop out like that. Just the sides did. The bottom and top of the window stayed in position. and the sides kicked out. Made it look like a reverse bubble window.

What you are referring to was called a "Flex-Thru" window. I wish they still made them.

It's hard to tell by the pic, but look at the right side....

Now that is kinda cool. Did that window flex to open like that? I was picturing it in 3 separate pieces. Like a 3 piece slider, but the center fixed and the outer 2 popping open.
