New 66 owner - Disc Brake conversion?

Hey guys ... I am a new proud owner of my 66 chevy K20 3/4ton 4x4 and i'm ready to dig in. I hope to have pictures posted really soon. I'm completely stoked about becoming a part of this group. I'm inspired by all the knowledge that's shared. Anyway, I want to loose the drums on the front and possibly the rear end! any suggestions on what is best to do ... conversion or swap out? I do know that i don't want independant suspension ... Thanks in advance for all suggestions

Welcome to the board from East TN. If you go to the FAQ's section of 60-66 Trucks- there is a large amount of information to peruse. LILRED and CaptainFab as well as others are great resources.
Oh yeah- we want to see pictures.

If its an orignal front axle it should be a closed knuckle dana 44. You can use a dana 44 or 10 bolt from a 71-87 truck will bolt pretty much right in. You will also have to get new brake lines and the master cylinder from the same truck.

That's what I did on my 68...You will also need to modify the steering drag link or upgrade to the newer power steering gear box. Rear discs are a little pricy for 6 lugs with e-brake but systems are available...
