front spindle nut/grease cap fitment

on my '71 swb, i put the 15x8 chrome truck rally's with the police center caps on
the front. problem is...the spindle nut grease caps stick out too far for
the center caps to go on. anybody make the right (shallower) caps? any ideas?

i had the same problem and ended up smooshing the dust cap down enough to clear with no problems looked like hell but worked well for many years and was covered by the fubcap

Yep, you can flatten them a good bit with a mallet. You might remove the cap and put a gob of play dough on the tip of the spindle then install the hub cap. That will flatten the play dough down so when you remove the cap you can get an idea of how much or little clearance is between the spindle and cap to see if you could flatten yours enough.
