rear cab trim

I am not going to be running the rear cab trim on my truck. When it is removed it has about 10 little studs that stick out from the cab. Are these welded on or are they tacked from the inside area?

If I cut them off and grind them smooth will the play a roll in separation later on if painted over?

Welded on from outside just like they do with stud guns. No problems with painting over. If you change your mind after painting they make liitle shoulder screws to re-attach the plastic clips w/o having to repaint

Thank you, I grinded them down but they seemed to still leave an outline. im sure once things are finished up on the metal they will be just fine. I do not plan on reinstalling the trim on this cab.
