Removal of mech. Kick panel
how in the world does it come out, i loosened all bolts duhhhh... it wants to come out in the direction of the dash, and that just plain aint happening..
do u have to remove the dash!? does the dash even unbolt? or is it like the 67-72's? I HAVE A 74 CHEVY /W/ MECHANICAL (PULL KNOB) KICK PANELS. thanks! |

there is a bolt that holds the dash on each side, and a brace in the middle just to the left of the ashtray, then tilt the dash up, i have also unbolted the parking brake pedal assembly to give me more room, that has a bolt next to the dash bolt and 2 nuts on the firewall.
the dash unbolts at the bottom, but is spot welded right under the windshield, that kick panel must have been the first thing to go on the truck at the assembly line, haha |

I pulled mine out but can't remember if the dash is holding it any. I do remember it was a pain to get them out. I do know I unbolted the ebrake bracket.

The e brake bracket is not bad but the vent is the fun part. I'll take a look at mine in the morning and see if I can remember what was holding it on. I did not reinstall mine but I'll look at it in the morning.
